Three-year-old Lumosty has returned to racing in exceptional condition this time and has maintained status as outright $2.40 favourite in 2015 Dane Ripper Stakes betting markets as a result.

Stamping her claims as one to watch through a commendable spring preparation, Lumosty won the Oxford Landing Estates Maiden (1423m) first-up; progressing to success in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic (1600m) before running sixth in the Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m).

Having taken out each of All Victoria Sprint Series Heat (1100m) and Listed Straight Six (1200m) in recent weeks, Lumosty currently figures as first emergency for the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1350m) but will be very hard to beat in the Dane Ripper should she accept.

Popular mare Catkins will need some luck in running from barrier 9 in the Dane Ripper Stakes but offers exceptional value for money at current $3.30 odds for success.

Finishing outside the first three only a handful of times through 32 career starts so far, the Dubawi mare remains the most talented current Australian race horse yet to break through for a maiden win at the highest level.

Returning this time for consecutive successes in the Group 2 Breeders’ Classic (1200m) and Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m), Catkins ran a close second in the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) before returning to the winner’s circle in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) on March 28th.

Running a close second in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) most recently, the five-year-old will have taken huge benefit from a brief spell and will be tough to beat on Saturday.

Interestingly figuring as the only other runner currently available at Dane Ripper Stakes odds of less than $10, Bring Me The Maid ($8.50) will be tough to beat should the Doomben track experience rain over the coming days.

Announcing her racing arrival over a strong 2014 autumn campaign highlighted by success in the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) and a credible third in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m), Bring Me The Maid failed to make much of an impact over spring but has found competitive form since returning this time.

Running second in the Group 2 Arrowfield Sprint (1200m) first-up, the Sebring filly boxed on for a credible fourth in the Group 1 BTC Cup (1200m) on May 9th but was unlucky to be blocked for a run in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) most recently.
