Lumosty ($2.40) has opened as and maintained status as clear favourites in 2015 Dane Ripper Stakes betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Catkins ($3.40) and classy three-year-old Bring Me The Maid ($8.50).

Will Lumosty justify her resounding favouritism and win the 2015 Dane Ripper Stakes, or will one of her many talented rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Catkins ($3.40)

Lumosty has returned to racing in scintillating form this time but is yet to face a horse up to the class of Catkins, who will be very hard to beat in the Dane Ripper Stakes. Posting an incredible fifteen wins and a further 12 minors over 32 career starts, the daughter of Dubawi won each of the Group 2 Breeders’ Classic (1200m) and Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) first-up this year; running second in the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) before returning to the winner’s circle in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) on March 28th. Having since finished second in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m), Catkins will have taken huge benefit from a brief spell and will be partnered by Hugh Bowman.

2nd

Hazard ($12)

Godolphin runner Hazard has found great form leading into the 2015 Dane Ripper Stakes and offers punters great value for money at current $12 odds for success or $3.30 to finish in the first three. Posting nine wins and a further five minors over 24 career starts, the Flying Spur mare won a Sandown minor over 1000m first-up on April 1, and while unlucky to be blocked for a run and seventh in the Listed Bel Esprit Stakes (1100m) on April 18th, has since won each of the Ern Jensen Funerals Handicap (1100m) and Group 3 Proud Miss Stakes (1200m).

3rd

Peron ($14)

Peron has been unable to secure much of a consistent run of form through five starts this time, but undoubtedly has the class to figure in the first three in the 2015 Dane Ripper Stakes. The winner of six of her 21 career starts and finishing in the first three and further four times, the Husson mare beat only two runners home in the Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) on March 27th but progressed to a fifth place finish in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m) and fourth in the Group 3 Darley Crown (1300m) over the next few weeks. Having run ninth in the Group 3 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) most recently, Peron has reportedly taken well to work over the last fortnight.
