Godolphin runner Ghisoni remains a clear and justifiable $1.65 favourite in 2016 Dane Ripper Stakes betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Cradle Me ($7) and My Poppette ($11).

Will Ghisoni justify favouritism and win the 2016 Dane Ripper Stakes, or will one of her talented rivals find the line in the clear?

1st

Ghisoni ($1.65)

Ghisoni is undoubtedly the class horse of the 2016 Dane Ripper Stakes field and should just win the Group 2 race this weekend. Debuting to racing for a pair of wins in minor Sydney sprints in November, Ghisoni returned this year for success in the b (1200m) on November 11th. Progressing to sixth in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m), the Lonhro filly ran on for a handy fifth in the Group 2 Arrowfield Classic (1200m) on Day 2 of The Championships before arriving in Brisbane for success in the Group 3 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) a fortnight ago. James McDonald retains the ride on Ghisoni, who may require a little luck in running from barrier 13.

2nd

My Poppette ($11)

My Poppette is another runner who has drawn wide into the Dane Ripper Stakes field, but will be partnered by leading hoop Dwayne Dunn and carries typically competitive form into the race. Highlighting a strong spring campaign with success in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies’ Classic (1600m), My Poppette returned this time for third in the Changing Places R/E BM78 (1100m) on April 30th before running on for fourth in the Group 3 Proud Miss Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on May 21st. The Snippetson filly should have no problem performing to a high standard with 57kgs and is more than worth consideration for an each-way bet at current Dane Ripper Stakes odds.

3rd

Amicus ($13)

Group 1 winner Amicus has been charged with lugging a race-high 59.5kgs, but has been confirmed to be partnered by leading hoop Hugh Bowman and will leave from the ideal barrier 5 in the Dane Ripper Stakes. Returning to racing for success in the Group 2 Thoroughbred Breeders Classic (1200m) on February 2nd, Amicus failed to make anything of an impact through her next two starts but ran a handy third in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) on March 28th. Sure to have taken plenty of benefit from a first-up run for seventh in the Glenlogan Park Stakes, the Fastnet Rock mare is simply over the Dane Ripper Stakes odds at her current quote.
